Worship Is More Than Praise

I used to believe that a worship team’s role within a church service was to praise while the pastor’s role was to preach. That worship, would cultivate a throne room experience so that God’s word could then be planted and nurtured within the hearts of the congregation through the teaching of His word. But recently I’ve discovered that this just isn’t true.

The truth is, there is a need for preaching within the worship experience. Continue reading

Set Them Up To Watch Them Fall

We’ve all done it. We have all been products of it. It’s probably safe to assume that we all still do it whether we know it or not.

You know when have an expectation for someone, some preconceived thought that you believe someone else is going to attain. Then you don’t tell the person that expectation because the whole reason it is there is because you believe it to be within them; perhaps part of their character. Need To Be In The Light

As a Christian you begin to see the world quite differently than you did prior to your faith. If you were blessed with a holy perspective in your upbringing, then it’s probably safe to say you see the world quite differently than others.

Therefore we begin to see very clearly the connections between the images of nature and our spiritual place with God. Continue reading

Something worth considering is how two highly educated men can possess such a diverse view on fundamental scientific questions. Continue reading

It’s OK to Cry

Chick-flicks, sobby Facebook post, inspiring videos and other emotionally packaged messages can often wage war on our emotional conscience as human beings. As a woman I imagine there is pleasure gained from the emotional connection established in these moments, but as a man it seems there is an internal conflict to answer to during the emotional solicitation; that is, “to cry or not to cry” (that is the solicitation). Get it? ๐Ÿ™‚

I know it is not the manliest thing to say, and some men might even disagree with me to some extent, but when I titled this post I meant what I said and said what I meant, “it is OK to cry, and sometimes you really should.” Continue reading
